The great warThe great war first started in 1914 and carried on until 1918!
The two sides which fought were the Allies and the Central Powers.
The Central Powers were Turkey, Germany and Austria-Hungary.
The Allies were the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Russia, Australia and New Zealand.
Gallipoli
On April 25th at dawn, the Anzacs landed in Gallipoli (In Turkey) and realised they landed at the wrong place.
The Anzacs had no choice but to climb a large mountain to fight against the Turks so they could move through Turkey to give the Russians equipment to survive the cold weather.
Sadly lot's of soldiers died while fighting the Turks for eight months so, they evacuated them.
